endless minutiae
March 5, 2010:
As we approach the Vernal Equinox, the first installment of the Smiling Machine Spring Series is hot off the press!
February 15, 2010:
The big day has come and gone, this holiday of plastic-wrapped sexual organs--both roses in celophane and otherwise. A culturally sanctioned excuse to hook-up with a bar-crawling random for no other reason than the calendar date. February 14th is a celebration of capitalism's grip on basic human instinct, the raison d'ĂȘtre of Russel-Stover, Hallmark cards, and 1-800-FLOWERS, it is it is the ultimate hormone-stoker and shame-maker--yet another traditional Catholic celebration given over to the Devil's playful hands.
Best ever, boys and girls. Seeing all of your pretty smiles actually made it mean something to me. Check back in a few weeks for Solstice Celebrations!
February 5, 2010:
I will be selling Valentine's Day cards at Nashville's Saturday Art Crawl tomorrow night (Saturday, Feb. 6), at Sherlock's Bookstore. Sherlock's just opened about a week ago downtown on 5th Ave, across from the Arcade entrance.
If you are out for a virtually endless supply of free wine under the pretense of vain art snobbery--which is one of my favorite pastimes--do drop in and say hello.
The Crawl goes from 6pm to 9pm. The free wine is usually cashed by 8:30, so frugal alcoholics are advised to come early.
February 4, 2010:
The Smiling Machine's InterWeb incarnation opened for business, selling its first card to Abbas! May his Veri-Lites wash the
world--may his MAC 2Ks never die! (She'll love it, buddy.)
In other news, I finally got to send my first mass email in the wee hours of the morning. It felt good, intruding upon the electronic serenity of all those people. You are wired to me now, forever...
Don't worry, I will only Spam you with a new card release or an
eye-popping, jaw-dropping, underwear-bursting Sale! Sale! Sale!
And of course, I would like to extend my gratitude to every ardent supporter and helping hand--you know who you are.
Mark my words, the Art of the Greeting Card will be revived!
