Anto'...and then there was love...
Where to begin? At the beginning I always say. Anto' was born on the 22 nd of June 1979 to a mushroom and a polo neck. They abandoned him shortly after his birth, but luckily, he was taken in by the family Noonan who raised him as their own.
He progressed normally in this very loving environment until one day, when he was nine, he found out the truth of his biological parents; he skipped school and managed to burn up his daddy Noonan's golf umbrellas, mommy Noonan's new rug, and all of his sibling's pyjamas. Whilst trying to quench the flames with saucepans of water he discovered that he had an unnatural talent for producing groovy rhythms by banging them with sticks. With this new discovery he forgot all about the truth of his birth.
Anto' is an accomplished musician. A genius on the drums but he also plays guitar, piano, and as far as I have seen any instrument he holds in his hands for more than an hour. He is also a singer of note.
After leaving school Anto' contracted the hiccups and continued with them for four years now. He has decided to sub-contract the hiccupping gig, to another up and coming West-Cork genius (who's name will be revealed in time…), so he can focus more on his true passion, music. He is now a recognised solo artist in his own right, having released his debut solo album “Faster” in the summer, and is a devoted member of Smiling Machine.
Anto' lists his interests as reading, walking, walking 20 miles home at night while intoxicated (a different kind of walking), fires and woolly hats.
To this day Anto' has an intense hatred of mushrooms and polo necks, though he does not know why. (There are rumours he has gone so far as to take out contracts on the lives of all mushrooms and polo necks. These rumours are unsubstantiated).
